At work with a drive of coupling be careful in the treatment of brake liquid. Do not allow its hit in eyes and on skin. If it did not manage to be avoided, immediately wash out these places water enough. Arrive similarly when brake liquid gets on a paint and varnish covering, otherwise paint will grow dull and can descend completely.
Removal of the main cylinder of coupling carry out in the following sequence:
- remove a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery;
- pump out brake liquid from a feeding tank;
- remove the air filter together a sleeve;
- remove the contact socket of the sensor of a mass consumption of air (MAF) and a hose of system of ventilation of a case;

- remove the assembly block of the relay and safety locks (CJB) (fig. 218) ;

- disconnect a tube 2 (fig. 219) from the main cylinder;
- remove the bottom cover of the dashboard and a carpet in space for feet;

- remove the main cylinder, for this purpose remove a clamp 1 (fig. 220) and unscrew a bolt 2, remove the cylinder from an arm of a pedal 3 and disconnect a piston rod from a coupling pedal.
Installation of the main cylinder of coupling carry out in the following sequence:
- connect a piston rod to a coupling pedal;
- establish the main cylinder on a pedal arm, establish a clamp and wrap bolts;
- attach a tube to the main cylinder;
- establish a cover of the panel of pribror;
- establish the assembly block of the relay and safety locks (CJB), the air filter with a sleeve;
- connect the contact socket of the MAF sensor and establish a hose of system of ventilation of a case;
- establish feeding tank and fill it with brake DOT-4 liquid;
- remove air from a coupling hydraulic actuator. Workshops use for this purpose the special tool.
If you delete air independently, arrive as follows:
- remove a dustproof cap from the valve on the working cylinder and put on it a hose. Other end of a hose lower in the tank with brake liquid;
- ask the assistant to press a coupling pedal. At this time open the valve and close, when the pedal will rest against a floor. Repeat this process while in the tank with brake liquid air vials will not cease to appear. Pay thus attention to feeding tank — it should be always filled;
- finish assembly in sequence, return to removal;
- make a trial trip run not less than 20 km. During this time electronic control systems of the engine and the car should be activated. If you find failures in operation of the engine, for example unevenness of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine idling, go on specialized station Ford where to you will reprogram the control unit anew;
- after a trial trip again check levels of working liquids, reliability of fixing connections and tightness of the shlangovy.
